Plot:

'Kakuda' is based on a folklore where a mysterious ghost named Kakuda curses men in a small village, leading to their death if they do not leave a small door open in their homes every Tuesday at evening. The plot follows Sunny and Indira, who must find a way to save Sunny from Kakuda's curse after he is late in opening the door one night.

Acting:

Sonakshi Sinha delivers a good performance in 'Kakuda' with her character providing some sense in the bizarre narrative. Saqib Saleem, on the other hand, struggles to evoke empathy in his role, and unfortunately Riteish Deshmukh, did not has much to do in the role assigned to him.

Cinematography:

The cinematography of 'Kakuda' creates a spooky ambience whenever Kakuda appears, but the reactions of the characters fail to convince the audience to take the events seriously. The film lacks consistency in maintaining a terrifying ambiance throughout.

Direction:

Director Aditya Sarpotdar's treatment of 'Kakuda' struggles to evoke fear or concern for the characters, making the plot feel incoherent and unconvincing. While the premise had potential, the film fails to deliver on the horror-comedy genre, lacking the humor to engage the audience.

Conclusion:

'Kakuda' falls short of expectations for a horror comedy, with a weak plot, lackluster humor, and underutilized talent of the cast. Despite Sonakshi Sinha's efforts, the film fails to scare or amuse, making it a campy and forgettable watch that may not appeal to fans of the genre. Overall, 'Kakuda' is a below-average film that does not do justice to the potential of horror-comedies.
