Movie Review: Jogira Sara Ra Ra
Plot
Jogira Sara Ra Ra is set in Lucknow, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays Jogi Pratap, a wedding planner who has vowed never to get married. Dimple (Neha Sharma) asks him to break off her arranged marriage with Lallu (Mahaakshay Chakraborty), which leads to a series of failed plans and ultimately, Dimple's kidnapping. However, Jogi's schemes backfire, and he finds himself entangled with local goons and police inspectors, leading to a total derailment of the plot's humor.Acting
Deepa Gahlot notes that Nawazuddin Siddiqui is not romcom material and continues to give off gangsta vibes. Neha Sharma, the female lead, lacks the requisite cuteness to play the manic pixie dream girl, and the chemistry between the two actors is zero. However, supporting actors like Sanjay Mishra and Rohit Chaudhary throw in their effort, and Mahaakshay Chakraborty displays some comic chops.Cinematography
The film is set in a small town in Lucknow, and while the setting is endearing and quaint, it no longer feels novel. The soundtrack is easily forgettable, and there is nothing new that the film offers to its audience.Direction
The film is helmed by director Kushan Nandy, who brings nothing new to the table. The screenplay becomes repetitive and unnecessarily convoluted in the second half, and the lazy writing and poor execution never let the film make a connection. As the actors struggle to bring their characters to life, a weak script fails these credible artists and reduces them to caricaturish roles.Verdict
Jogira Sara Ra Ra doesn't offer anything new to its audience and turns out to be yet another monotonous rom-com with zero novelty, and humor so stale that you prefer to yawn instead. While it manages to keep you entertained with quite a few moments of unadulterated fun, the film works in fits and starts, and the viewer does not come out of the theatre smiling or humming.Share this review
