Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Movie Review

Plot

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke follows the story of a couple, Kapil Dubey and Saumya Chawla, who want to buy a house of their own to escape their joint family. They get a divorce to be eligible for the Indian government's flagship program, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which helps people in acquiring a flat. The film is set in the small town of Indore and explores the couple's journey, their struggles and how they try to navigate through the obstacles that come their way.

Acting

Vicky Kaushal is impressive as the penny-pinching yoga instructor, Kapil Dubey. He blends into his character perfectly and delivers a convincing performance. Sara Ali Khan, however, falls short in portraying the character of a middle-class bahu. The supporting cast, including Neeraj Sood and Kanupirya Pandit, deliver exceptional performances and add a lot of value to the movie.

Cinematography

Raghav Ramadoss's cinematography captures the small-town vibe and quirks of Indore beautifully. The film's setting adds authenticity to the story, and the cinematography does a great job of bringing it to life.

Direction

Director Laxman Utekar successfully delivers a complete family entertainer that will leave the audience with bouts of laughter in almost every scene. However, the film stretches towards the end, and it could be deemed boring for some viewers.

Verdict

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is an enjoyable one-time-watch for the funny punchlines, far-out characters, and performances. Although the story feels far-fetched and the screenplay is temperate, the film still manages to deliver on its promise of being a laugh riot. It explores family values and relationships with grace and elegance and acts as a reminder that sometimes, the most ordinary aspects of life can be fascinating.
