Plot:
Shamshera is a dacoit film set in pre-independence India, where the tribal leader, Shamshera, and his son, Balli, lead their tribe to fight against the British rule and the caste bias prevalent at that time.Acting:
Despite a weak storyline and screenplay, Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt deliver honest performances as Shamshera and the Brahmin police officer, Shudh Singh, respectively. Even the supporting cast of Ronit Bose Roy, Saurabh Shukla, and Iravati Harshe have very little to contribute.Cinematography:
The cinematography and background score of Shamshera are the highlights of the film. The VFX adds to the grandeur of the film.Direction:
Director Karan Malhotra had a grand vision for Shamshera, but it falls short in execution. The film feels far too stretched for its wafer-thin storyline, and the technical snags only add to the exhaustion of the film's audience.Music:
The album of Shamshera has some tracks that will play on your mind, but the songs themselves derail the narrative and make the experience sluggish. Conclusion:
Shamshera is a mess that needs more than just star power to come to its rescue. Despite the film's flaws, Ranbir Kapoor manages to rise above expectations and delivers in even the bleakest of settings. However, the film's problem lies in its inability to support its bombastic ideas with gripping drama.Share this review

Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt set the screen on fire with their loud action avatars. The Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt-starrer has its faults but manages to hit enough right chords to be an enjoyable masala entertainer.

Shamshera Review.Shamshera's problem is a shocking inability to support its bombastic ideas with gripping drama. The result is the wastage of not one but two Ranbir Kapoors.

Ranbir Kapoor's Period Film Is Thugs Of Hindostan-Level Bad. Moral of the story for Ranbir Kapoor - the actor should henceforth read his scripts with a more critical eye before buying into them. He owes it to his talent.
