Atithi Bhooto Bhava Film Review

Plot

Atithi Bhooto Bhava is a romantic comedy-drama about a stand-up comedian, Shrikant, who meets a ghost, Maakhan Singh, in an inebriated state. The ghost seeks Shrikant's help in meeting his long-lost love living in Mathura. Shrikant embarks on a road trip with his girlfriend and another comedian to fulfill the ghost's request, and that's where the story takes its turn.

Acting

Though the lead cast, Pratik Gandhi, and Sharmin Segal, deliver good performances, the film primarily relies on Jackie Shroff's sparkling screen presence. Jackie steals the show with his effortless acting and proves what a valuable asset he is for any film.

Cinematography

Atithi Bhooto Bhava lacks thrilling and mesmerizing visuals despite the road trip scenes it showcases. The film falls short of using special effects to bring the comic effect to the scenes.

Direction

Director Hardik Gajjar takes the help of an old formula and gives his twist to the story. He tries hard to make the sequences pitch-perfect, but it falls flat. Hardik Gajjar could have worked more on the screenplay and refined it.

Verdict

Atithi Bhooto Bhava is a movie that could have been much more than it turns out to be. The film's repetitive dialogues and clichéd themes take away the originality. The attempted humor falls flat for the most part, and the actors' performances are overshadowed by a poorly crafted story. However, The film picks up its pace towards the end and delivers a feel-good ending.
