Akelli Movie Review
Plot
In the backdrop of war-torn Iraq, a young Indian woman (portrayed by Nushrratt Bharuccha) finds herself trapped, yet she orchestrates the stunning takedown of a high-ranking ISIS commander and deals a fatal blow to another prominent leader.
Acting
Nushrratt Bharuccha tried her best to do justice with the character she played while showing emotions and her performance is quite sincere and authentic. Tsahi Halevi, who is playing the role of Assad has done a decent job. However his character lacks depth at different stages. Nishant Dahiya, who is portraying Rafeeq, despite having a small role does impress the viewers.
Cinematography
While the opening scene draws a lot of attention and excitement and sets the stage for the movie, the most of the scenes throughout the movie don't recreate that level of engagement. The cinematography is good in some of the scene while showing intense situations showing physical conditions and emotional aspects of the characters.
Direction
Pranay Meshram did a decent job, however a weak script and screenplay could not save the effort. Pranay has been successful and does justice with the scenes filmed in and around enclosed spaces but otherwise scenes lack depth in terms of thoughtfulness.
Conclusion
Despite its initial promise, Akelli fails to deliver a gripping survival drama. The film falls short in terms of consistent tension and character development. While Nushrratt Bharuccha delivers a commendable performance, the weak script and lack of emotional depth prevent the film from reaching its full potential. Akelli becomes a predictable and superficial thriller, leaving much to be desired.
