Plot:

Blurr is a thriller that centres around Gautami (Taapsee Pannu), a blind musician who is found dead by suicide. Her twin sister, Gayatri, refuses to believe that it was a case of suicide, and decides to investigate the matter on her own. As she digs deeper, she uncovers several dark secrets, putting her own life in danger. The film has a promising storyline, but fails to deliver on execution.

Acting:

Taapsee Pannu delivers a powerful performance as Gayatri, who is battling not only her sister's death, but also her own progressive blindness. Gulshan Devaiah as her husband, Neil, supports her well. However, the secondary characters are forgettable and generic.

Cinematography:

The cinematography by Sudhir Chaudhary is one of the highlights of Blurr. The misty mountains and fog create a perfect atmosphere for a horror film. The art direction with Victorian villas and dark alleyways, adds to the hauntings, gloomy look.

Direction:

Ajay Bahl's direction of Blurr could have been better. The film has a promising start but fails to maintain the tension throughout. The dynamics between the sisters are not explored enough, making it difficult for the audience to connect emotionally with the characters. Moreover, some scenes that had tremendous potential ended up offering nothing more than a minor thrill.

Music:

Blurr has no scope for songs and the makers wisely avoid adding them just for the sake of it. However, the background score by Ketan Soda is quite generic, which feels like a missed opportunity for a thriller.

Conclusion:

Blurr is an underwhelming thriller that doesn't make much of an impact. While Taapsee Pannu's performance is noteworthy, the execution of the storyline and the lack of emotional investment in the characters makes it difficult for the audience to connect. The technical aspects like cinematography and editing are decent but not exceptional. Overall, Blurr is not a must-watch, but can be okay if you have nothing better to do this weekend.
