Plot
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga is a heist and hijack thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout its runtime of 110 minutes. The film follows Neha Grover (Yami Gautam), a flight attendant who falls in love with Ankit Sethi (Sunny Kaushal), a passenger who owes a huge debt. To save his life, Neha agrees to help him steal diamonds worth Rs 120 crore being smuggled on a flight. However, things take an unexpected turn when the aircraft is hijacked.Acting
Yami Gautam shines in every frame she appears in, playing a strong lead who uncovers the layers of her character one after the other, catching the audience absolutely off-guard. On the other hand, Sunny acts as a foil to Yami's character and compliments her well. The supporting actors, however, fail to leave behind a strong impression, with most of their performances being forgettable.Cinematography
Gianni Giannelli's cinematography is intense, capturing the chaos and tension inside the airplane mid-air, which adds to the film's overall experience.Direction
Director Ajay Singh ambitiously combines the heist and hijack genres and does it with aplomb, keeping a tight grip on direction, which keeps the ride engaging even when the screenplay turns choppy intermittently. The film's fast pace and thriller add to the intrigue that the cinematography and taut editing enhance.Verdict
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga is definitely not brilliant, with too many flaws at times. The film is marred by illogical execution with certain scenes after the airplane hijack that will make you question 'what was the director even thinking?' However, if you can make your way through the first half, you will like the uncovering of the twist in the plot, which gets really predictable in the end. The film demands your attention, and the overall experience is worth a one-time watch.Share this review
