Movie Review: Crew

Plot

Crew, directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, revolves around a heist orchestrated by three enterprising women who work as flight attendants. Geeta Sethi, Divya Rana, and Jasmine Kohli, played by Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Kareena Kapoor respectively, find themselves in a financial mess and decide to smuggle gold to get out of it. The first half of the film sets up their ordinary lives and dreams, while the second half follows their daring heist plan and the consequences that follow. The story is engaging, fast-paced, and keeps you entertained throughout.

Acting

The stellar cast of Crew delivers commendable performances, with Tabu leading the film with her conviction, Kareena adding sizzle and chutzpah, and Kriti exuding confidence. The chemistry and bonding between the lead characters are natural and engaging, making their sisterhood act a highlight of the film. Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma also make entertaining appearances, adding to the overall charm of the movie.

Cinematography

The cinematography of Crew captures the glitz and glamour of the airline industry and the hustle and bustle of the characters' lives. The styling of the actresses, particularly Kareena Kapoor, is impeccable, adding to the overall visual appeal of the film. The camera work effectively showcases the comic timing and emotions of the characters, enhancing the viewing experience.

Direction

Rajesh A Krishnan's direction in Crew brings a fresh take on the heist comedy genre, with a focus on three strong female protagonists. The film strikes a balance between humor, action, and drama, keeping the audience engaged from start to finish. While some elements may seem familiar, Krishnan's execution and the performances of the cast elevate the overall impact of the movie.

Conclusion

Overall, Crew is an enjoyable and entertaining film that blends comedy, heist, and female empowerment seamlessly. The powerhouse performances of Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, coupled with the engaging storyline and witty dialogues, make it a worthwhile watch. While the film may have a few shortcomings in its execution, it delivers on entertainment value and showcases the talents of its cast. If you're looking for a light-hearted and fun-filled movie experience, Crew is definitely worth checking out.
