Farrey Movie Review

Plot

Farrey is a thrilling and refreshing movie that explores the world of cheating in exams. The story revolves around Niyati, a talented but disadvantaged student, who joins an elite school on a scholarship. She gets pulled into a cheating racket by her rich classmates, leading to unforeseen consequences. The plot cleverly avoids the typical tropes of school dramas and presents a unique perspective on the clash between the haves and have-nots.

Acting

The young cast of Farrey delivers promising performances. Alizeh Agnihotri makes a strong debut as Niyati, portraying her as a bright, cheeky, and reckless girl. Sahil Mehta effortlessly handles his character's complicated arc. Prasanna Bisht and Zeyn Shaw shine as manipulative teenagers. Ronit Roy and Juhi Babbar also deliver excellent performances as Niyati's loving parent figures.

Cinematography

The movie features impressive cinematography that captures the contrasting worlds of the rich and the poor students. The visuals effectively showcase the opulence of the elite school as well as the struggles of the disadvantaged characters. The accompanying background score adds to the overall dramatic effect of the film.

Direction

Soumendra Padhi, known for his previous work in Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega, presents a well-crafted movie overall. The direction keeps the audience engaged throughout, despite some sequences of cheating in exams that tend to overstretch. However, the resolution of the main conflict could have been better explained, leaving some loose ends. Nevertheless, Padhi's adaptation of the original Thai thriller Bad Genius offers a thrilling and cautionary tale.

Conclusion

Farrey is a compelling and entertaining film that offers a fresh take on the world of exam cheating. The movie's strong plot, impressive performances, and captivating cinematography make it an engaging watch. While some aspects could have been better developed, the overall experience is satisfying. Alizeh Agnihotri's debut performance is noteworthy, and she shows great potential for future onscreen adventures. Farrey is a must-watch for those looking for a thrilling and thought-provoking film.
