Forensic Review: A Thriller That Keeps You Guessing

Plot

Forensic, a Malayalam thriller remake, revolves around a serial killer who kidnaps and murders little girls on their birthdays. Vikrant Massey plays the forensic expert Johnny Khanna and Radhika Apte plays Megha Sharma, the investigating officer assigned to the case. The film keeps you guessing with plot twists and turns, though some logical gaps remain.

Acting

The cast delivers an impressive performance. Massey's charming yet serious demeanor, Apte's tough cop act, and the supporting actors' solid portrayal add to the mystery element.

Cinematography

Director Vishal Furia chooses the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie as the backdrop for the serial killings. The imposing mountains, tall trees, and dark nooks create a gloomy atmosphere that adds to the suspense.

Direction

Furia's direction is a mixed bag. While the film has its moments of tension and suspense, the unnecessary changes to the original plot maul a reasonably good concept beyond recognition.

Music

Jakes Bejoy's music adds tension to the creepy moments, enhancing the overall mood of the film.

Overall Verdict

If you enjoy putting on an investigator's hat and playing a guessing game, then Forensic might be the perfect film for you. With a gripping plot and impressive acting, the film keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, the illogical gaps and unnecessary changes to the plot are a letdown. Overall, Forensic is a decent watch that could have been better.
