Heropanti 2 Movie Review: A Masala Entertainer Which Falls Short on Storytelling

Plot:

Heropanti 2 follows the story of Babloo Ranawat (Tiger Shroff), a genius hacker, who is tasked with tracking down Laila (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), the mastermind behind the world's largest cybercrime yet to occur. Along the way, he falls for Inaaya (Tara Sutaria), Laila's sister. The movie revolves around Babloo's mission to stop Laila, who has a plan to steal money from every citizen of India via his app called Pulse.

Acting:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays the role of Laila, steals the show with his acting prowess. His flamboyant character with over-the-top mannerisms is a delight to watch. Tiger Shroff delivers his usual phenomenal performance, owning every scene and nailing the action sequences. However, Tara Sutaria's role is limited and doesn't give her much to work with.

Cinematography:

Shot in exotic locations, Heropanti 2 is visually appealing. The cinematography by Kabir Lal captures the beautiful locales of England, India, Russia, Thailand, and Abu Dhabi well.

Direction:

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the movie delivers on action and entertainment but falls short on storytelling. The screenplay could have been better, with more focus on the plot and character development. However, the action sequences by Ram Chella-Lakshman Chella, Parvez Shaikh & Kecha Khamphakdee are well choreographed and keep the audience engaged.

Music:

The music by AR Rahman is catchy and stays with you even after the credits roll. However, it's not his usual style, with songs like Dafa Kar and Whistle Baja 2.0 being more cheeky and fitting for a masala entertainer. Tiger Shroff also makes his singing debut with the song Miss Hairan, which is a new party number in town.

Verdict:

Overall, Heropanti 2 is a masala entertainer that delivers on action, drama, music, romance, and exotic locations. However, overall it does not meet the expectations. You might like it if you watch it for Tiger's action and Nawaz's acting.
