"Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega" is a gritty tale of digital crime and political agendas

Plot

The show explores the world of phishing scams in the small town of Jamtara, Jharkhand. Led by two cousins, Sunny and Rocky, the gang cons unsuspecting victims, ranging from school teachers to corporate officials. As they become richer and greedier, local politician Brajesh Bhan wants a piece of the pie, while Superintendent of Police, Dolly Sahu, vows to stop them. The series also sheds light on the class and caste divides in the country.

Acting

Sparsh Srivastav and Anshumaan Pushkar shine as Sunny and Rocky, respectively. But the real stars of the show are the women. Aksha Pardasany impresses as Dolly, while Monika Panwar fights patriarchy with a heart of steel as Gudiya.

Cinematography

Soumendra Padhi's camerawork adds to the tension in the narrative, capturing the unpolished and rugged scenario of Jamtara.

Direction

The series is directed by Soumendra Padhi, who crafts a gritty and realistic portrayal of the town.

Overall Impressions

"Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega" is a refreshing addition to Netflix India's library, exploring a world of digital crime in a small town setting. Despite its flaws, such as a lack of layered narrative, the show packs a punch and sheds light on important issues. Fans of gritty crime dramas will find much to enjoy here.
