Plot

Maarrich revolves around the murder of two girls in their Mumbai apartment. Rajiv Dixit (Tusshar Kapoor), a police officer, is on a mission to track down the killer who is on the run. However, the plot quickly shifts to the protagonist's "sin and acts of goodness," and the investigation process is poorly written, making it challenging for viewers to connect with the story.

Acting

Tusshar Kapoor, who plays the lead role and is also the film's producer, appears to be a total misfit. His awkward dialogue delivery and French beard-like appearance hinder his efforts to be convincing. Even Naseeruddin Shah, a seasoned performer, fails to elevate the film with his presence.

Cinematography

The cinematography fails to create any sense of tension or intrigue, and the songs only serve to prolong a film that is already difficult to watch due to its lengthy runtime.

Direction

Writer-director Dhruv Lather's attempt at a whodunnit thriller is a snoozer. The screenplay is dreary, and the character arcs are poorly sketched. The film feels like a terrible version of Crime Patrol, and the attempts at injecting humor fall flat.

Verdict

The plot appears promising at first, but the poorly written screenplay quickly loses the audience's interest. The performances by the cast, including seasoned performers like Naseeruddin Shah, fail to elevate the film. Even the attempts at humor fall flat. You can skip it without giving it a thought.
