Major: A Tribute to Sacrifice and Bravery

Plot

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, played by Adivi Shesh, is a National Security Guard (NSG) commando who sacrifices his life to save others during the deadly 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai. The film is a tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers and their families, while also exploring what it means to be a soldier.

Acting

Adivi Sesh shines in his role as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, portraying his journey from a young boy fascinated with the uniform to a brave officer on the front lines. Prakash Raj and Revathi deliver heartbreakingly realistic performances as Sandeep's parents.

Cinematography

Vamsi Patchipulusu's cinematography goes from dreamy to suffocating, depending on the scene playing out. The action sequences by Naba also stand out.

Direction

Director Sashi Kiran Tikka and Adivi Sesh, who wrote the story and screenplay, decide to focus on Sandeep the human as a whole rather than just Sandeep the martyr. They craft a non-linear screenplay that keeps the audience engaged.

Overall

Major is a tribute to sacrifice and bravery, exploring what it means to be a soldier while also celebrating the sacrifices of soldiers' families. Abburi Ravi's dialogues and Sricharan Pakala's music play on your emotions but they do it well. Adivi Sesh shines in his role as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. So it's worth a watch.
