Nirmal Pathak, a young man, returns to his native village in Bihar after 24 years of living in a metropolitan city. The series follows his search for his roots as well as his attempts to deal with the underbelly of rural India, including casteism, sexism, patriarchy, and illiteracy. The performances by the cast are outstanding, with Vaibhav Tatwawadi playing Nirmal Pathak with ease and immediately connecting with the audience. Alka Amin as Santoshi, Nirmal's birth mother, is fantastic, and her character's emotional turmoil is palpable. Akash Makhija’s Aatish and his friends add a genuine sense of humor and naivety.
