Panchayat Season 2: A Fun Ride with Drama and Emotions

Plot:

Jitendra Kumar stars as Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who takes up a low-paying job as the Panchayat secretary in Phulera village, Uttar Pradesh. Season 2 shows Abhishek settling into his role, developing bonds with the locals and dealing with local politics and rivalries. The show presents the Indian village as a real place with real people, with humor existing only in situations people find themselves in, and not in the nature of rural life.

Acting:

Jitendra Kumar gives a solid performance as Abhishek, carrying the show on his back. His ability to hold his own against veterans like Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta is evident. Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy are also impressive as Prahlad Pandey and Vikas respectively, bringing new life to the show with their pitch-perfect acting.

Cinematography:

The show was shot in a picturesque location in Madhya Pradesh, giving city viewers a look at rural life, though this one is sanitized to fairy-tale perfection. The cinematography captures the beauty of the location and adds to the overall appeal of the show.

Direction:

Directed by Dipak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar, Panchayat 2 takes viewers on a fun ride with the right mix of drama and emotions. Mishra does an excellent job of capturing the essence of rural life while Kumar's writing is gentle and completely relatable.

Overall Impression:

Panchayat Season 2 challenges viewers to think, introspect, and hold back tears. It avoids being repetitive and shows growth, both in the characters and the story. The show's strength lies in its subtlety, with no melodrama or monologues. The solid performances of its cast and crisp writing make it a must-watch.
