Physics Wallah: A Series About Revolutionizing Education

Plot

Physics Wallah is a show that tells the story of Alakh Pandey, the founder and CEO of 'Physics Wallah', an EdTech unicorn that revolutionized online education. The show explores Alakh's hardships as he tries to create an affordable education system and make science comprehensible for students. The series is based on his real-life experiences, and Sameer Mishra's sharp writing brings drama, emotions, and the workings of coaching centres to the screen.

Acting

Shreedhar Dubey, who plays the protagonist Alakh Pandey, delivers an honest performance that keeps the drama going. He portrays Alakh's journey in a relatable way on-screen. Dubey captures Alakh's style perfectly, right from his greeting to his students, "Hello bacho, kaise ho aap sab." Both Radha Bhatt, who plays his elder sister, and Anurag Thakur, who plays his best friend Tushar, serve as positive and motivating influences for him.

Cinematography

The series is shot mainly at a coaching institute for students. The camera work is decent, but nothing stands out in terms of cinematography. However, the background music complements the drama and sets the right tone for the show.

Direction

Producer-director Abhishek Dhadharia's direction is decent; he manages to capture the essence of Alakh Pandey's story. The pace of the screenplay is very erratic; at times, the show moves too fast, while at others, it slows down, making the episodes feel lengthy.

Verdict

If you're looking for a series about someone who revolutionized online education and overcame obstacles, Physics Wallah is worth a watch. The show is available on OTT platforms and is worth checking out if you're interested in EdTech and real-life stories of inspiration.
