'Sergeant' Movie Review

Plot

Sergeant is a mystery drama that handles the suspense in a unique way despite having a lead actor not in action. The movie's plot is based on Nikhil Sharma's (Randeep Hooda) journey (who loses his leg in action) to uncover the truth in toughest situations where he needs to work from the desk only.

Acting

Randeep Hooda as always does his best and adopts the character well, and his on-screen presence makes the character look solid as Sergeant Nikhil. Throughout the movie he justifies all the emotions whether he needs to show character's anger or emotional side. The supporting cast Arun Govil as Nikhil's father, Adil Hussain as Inspector Haider Ali, and Sapna Pabbi as Nikhil's love Monica, deliver good performances.

Cinematography

The film's setting in London is effectively captured in cinematography while showcasing the city's alleys. The good production design and background music compliments the situations shown at different places.

Direction

Director Prawaal Raman did a good job while trying to generate the suspense and excitement about the events. However, overall output is missing the depth and flow required for a perfect suspense thriller. Despite these shortcomings, he manages to engage the audiences in bits and pieces.

Verdict

Overall, Randeep Hooda's performance makes 'Sergeant' a good watch if you are a fan of mystery dramas. Ofcourse, looking at the plot It could have been better if it would be have been executed well.
