Plot

The film revolves around two aspiring Bollywood actors, Shiraz aka Sheru (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Tasleem aka Tiku (Avneet Kaur), who find themselves in a marriage of convenience. Sheru, who works as an extra but also doubles up as a pimp, marries Tiku to get her dowry, which he uses to pay off his loan shark. As they navigate the dark underbelly of showbiz, they find love in each other. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Sheru is arrested for drug peddling, and Tiku struggles to make it big in the industry.

Acting

Nawazuddin Siddiqui delivers an honest performance, but his character feels repetitive. Avneet Kaur, with less experience, appears more eager to do something different. However, their lack of chemistry and timing fails to elevate the Tiku-Sheru jodi to the next level.

Cinematography

The film has a unique setting and an interesting idea on paper. However, the flawed execution prevents it from ever taking off. The sluggish start and lack of newness make it difficult for the audience to connect with the characters.

Direction

Sai Kabir's attempt to offer a satirical take on the film industry has its moments, but they are far and few. The film digresses from one point to another, failing to explore any aspect in depth. The dialogues are clichéd and uninteresting.

Verdict

Tiku Weds Sheru could have been a better film if the writers were smart enough to see the potential in its lead characters. The film fails to offer a fresh and unique perspective into the journey of two individuals wanting to achieve their dreams. Watch it only if you have nothing better to do.
