Review: Yaatris

Plot

Yaatris tells the story of the dysfunctional Sharma family, a middle-class family from Banaras, who embark on an adventure to Bangkok. The film explores their everyday chaos and camaraderie, as well as the challenges they face when the head of the family, Pushkar Sharma, retires. The plot attempts to showcase love, comedy, and life lessons.

Acting

The performances in Yaatris are the saving grace of the film. Raghubir Yadav and Seema Pahwa deliver lovable and heartwarming performances as the parents of the Sharma family. Their on-screen chemistry adds depth to the emotional aspects of the film. Anuraag Malhan and Jamie Lever also showcase commendable acting skills as the rival siblings, although some kind of comedic essence in their relationship could have been shown to make it look better. Overall, the cast brings life to their characters and manages to capture the essence of a middle-class Indian family.

Cinematography

From a cinematography standpoint, Yaatris offers a small glimpse into the vibrant streets of Banaras and the exotic locations of Bangkok and Pattaya. Direction

The random chase scenes and forced bonding moments between the family members do little to elevate the overall storytelling.
