Dehati Disco - Movie Review

Dehati Disco - A Cliched Dance Drama

Plot:

A politician and his son want to demolish a community temple to build a dance academy. Bhola and his son Bheema challenge him to a dance-off. If they win, the temple will stay. Bhola's journey from being disowned by his father for loving dance to competing against the politician's son forms the crux of the story.

Acting:

Ganesh Acharya tries his best to portray the righteous and brave Bhola, but falls flat as an actor. The child actor Saksham as Bheema steals the show with his dancing skills.

Cinematography:

The camera work is jarring and does not add to the movie experience.

Direction:

Manoj Sharma's direction is passable, but the weak screenplay does not give him much to work with.

Choreography:

Despite being a dance drama with a choreographer as the main hero, the choreography does not do justice to the theme. The focus seems to be on showcasing different dance styles rather than using dance to drive the story forward.

Overall:

Dehati Disco is an over the top and cliched movie that harps on 'desh ki mitti' for no rhyme or reason. The portrayal of stereotypical villagers and melodramatic dialogues further add to the soap opera vibe of the movie. While it may have some moments for dance enthusiasts, it fails to deliver as a cohesive movie experience.
