Drishyam 2: A Gripping Sequel Worth Watching

Plot

Drishyam 2 is a continuation of the first part, where we see Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) and his family, still haunted by their past. As the police reopen the case, the Salgaonkars find themselves in more trouble. The sequel follows a similar pattern as the first part, with a series of unexpected events threatening to change everything. The plot is intense and unpredictable, with multiple threads leading to a stellar climax packed with numerous twists.

Acting

Ajay Devgn shines as the protective father who loves his family unconditionally. Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, and Rajat Kapoor deliver strong performances, adding gravitas to the gripping proceedings. While Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav, playing the other Salgaonkars, have almost similar roles as they had in the previous part. Saurabh Shukla as writer Murad Ali also plays his part well to resolve the mystery.

Cinematography

Director Abhishek Pathak sets in the brevity of the situation with constant rain and storms that somewhat depict the seriousness of the scene. The film's sets and locations are beautifully captured, adding to the vividness of the story. The background score by Rockstar DSP perfectly complements the thrilling narrative.

Direction

Director Abhishek Pathak delivers a gripping sequel, which intrigues and entertains. He skillfully builds the tension in the narrative, with every character serving a distinct purpose. The sequel stands strong on its own, with a plot that remains unpredictable for the most part.

Conclusion

Drishyam 2 is a gripping sequel worth watching, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that Ajay Devgn's eyes still speak for themselves. While there are some contrivances and far-fetched situations, the sequel manages to keep the audience hooked until the end. The film boasts of strong performances, beautiful cinematography, and a stellar climax, making it an engaging watch overall.
