Inspector Avinash: A Promising Thriller Based on UP SuperCop

Plot

"Inspector Avinash" takes inspiration from the life and exploits UP Supercop Avinash Mishra as it delves into the struggles of the UP Special Task Force in combating the criminals of the state. The series adopts a thrilling narrative that depicts the harsh reality of the crime scene in Uttar Pradesh, complete with a bit of glamour. The story unveils through flashbacks, as Avinash (Randeep Hooda) finds himself implicated in the encounter of three young men. The series unfolds in 1997, a time when Uttar Pradesh was plagued by the notorious gangster Shri Prakash Shukla.

Acting

Randeep Hooda's portrayal of UP supercop Avinash Mishra is one of the standout factors of the series. His performance is fantastic, and it effectively captures the essence of the rugged region. Hooda's mastery of the UP dialect is impressive and adds authenticity to the story rooted in the hinterland of Uttar Pradesh. Zakir Hussain delivers an extremely natural performance as DGP Samar Pratap Singh, Avinash's boss, even with limited screen time. Ahlawat (Rajneesh Duggal) and Rathi (Pravin Sisodia) also leave a lasting impression as alert members of the STF.

Cinematography

"Inspector Avinash" successfully captures the gritty atmosphere of late 90s Uttar Pradesh, contributing to its overall authenticity. The cinematography keeps the audience engaged by highlighting the rough edges of the central character while showcasing the clinical approach of the STF officers.

Direction

The series effectively utilizes the format of direct address to the camera, popularized by "House of Cards," to immerse the audience in Avinash's world. The director excels in presenting the inhumane side of police officers operating in plain clothes with a clinical approach. The series presents events with clinical precision, showcasing the Task Force's methodical approach in dismantling criminal networks.

Verdict

"Inspector Avinash" is a gripping action thriller series that promises to intensify the already engaging narrative. The first two episodes offer a satisfactory experience. However, it is important for the subsequent episodes to delve deeper into the background stories behind the encounters. The series needs to explore the motivations and circumstances surrounding these events to truly engage the audience. Overall, "Inspector Avinash" is a promising thriller based on UP SuperCop and is worth watching for Randeep Hooda's standout performance and the glimpse it provides into the harsh reality of the crime scene in Uttar Pradesh.
